Health Supplements


Health supplements, also known as nutritional supplements are additions to a regular diet which are intended to boost the diet by providing additional nutrients. There is a wide variety of health supplements available all with different purposes which can provide you with a variety of different nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and amino acids. These are just a few examples though; there are health supplements for almost every conceivable nutrient.

 

Health supplements are frequently used by people who are lacking a certain nutrient from their diet, for example a person who has been suffering from a vitamin C deficiency would be able to take a health supplement containing concentrate vitamin C to boost their intake and rectify the deficiency. Another example of a common types of health supplements is the type used by athletes or bodybuilders to boost their protein intake. Creatine is a type of health supplement frequently used by athletes and bodybuilders which is alleged to promote muscle growth. Multivitamin tablets are also common types of health supplements which are frequently used by many people across the world. The tablets contain a concentrated variety of vitamins to supplement a regular diet.

 

Health supplements take many different forms, tablets and powdered preparations of health supplements are the two most common forms, although some supplements are sold as liquids or in the form of familiar food stuffs. They are frequently available from health food shops which will specialise in the sale of health supplements as well as a variety of other health and nutrition products.
